White Rose Student GP Conference Review

The White Rose Student GP conference ran by the Royal College of General Practitioners was held this year at the University of Hull.

The day began with some inspiring talks from general practitioners here in Yorkshire about the life of a GP and career opportunities available in General Practice.

This was followed by a number of different workshops covering a range of different opportunities in General Practice including sports medicine, working with vulnerable people, working in prisons and a session on academic research in general practice given by none less than the dean of Hull York Medical School. There was also an opportunity to view posters during the breaks including some from Sheffield medical students.

The day concluded with talks as well as pitches students had created by students during the conference for a new campaign for GP recruitment.

Overall a great conference for anyone who’s ever considered a career in General Pract ice. Thank you to Sheffield GP society for arranging transport to and from the conference.
